Namibia Mourns the Passing of President Hage Geingob: A Legacy of Leadership and Energy Advocacy

(WO) – The African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) announced on Feb. 6 the passing of His Excellency President Hage Geingob of Namibia, following a courageous battle with cancer. President Geingob’s departure leaves behind a legacy marked by extraordinary leadership, unwavering dedication, and a profound commitment to Africa’s advancement.

Throughout his tenure as Prime Minister and President of Namibia, President Geingob demonstrated a steadfast commitment to public service. Under his visionary leadership, Namibia witnessed significant economic growth and development, making strides in enhancing the lives of its citizens and fostering sustainable progress across the Southern African region.

A central pillar of President Geingob’s legacy was his relentless pursuit of ending energy poverty in Africa. Recognizing the critical role of energy in driving economic development, he championed initiatives aimed at expanding energy access, harnessing resources, and creating economic opportunities for the Namibian people.
